Tweets from the Unconscious: Wishes, Fears, Impulses, and Surely, Love.

Don’t miss Dr. Larry Mortazavi’s institute at our upcoming COGPS annual conference!

In this analytically oriented group, we explore, listen, and reflect on group wishes for safety, connection, and love while struggling with unavoidable fear of uncertainty, rejection, and disconnect.  In the process of group work, we will recognize impulses that carry obscure messages from the depth of the unconscious to the surface of the group conscious. We will decipher them by paying attention to the way we relate to love objects, utilize defenses, and signify desires. The work will be accomplished as the group finds a cohesive narrative to acknowledge reality, direct its impulses, overcome its fear, and to love. Larry Mortazavi, MD, CGP, is a child and adolescent psychiatrist, a certified group therapist and an advanced analytical candidate in child psychoanalysis.

He was born and raised in Tehran, Iran where he competed medical school. He attended residency at Baylor College of Medicine and fellowship at Yale Child Study Center. He has a private practice and also works part time at a community mental health clinic.
